Last friday was Good Friday in germany and so we did what all Germans are doing, when living in our area: driving to Holland, because there ain't no holiday and shops are open there! First stop was the always trusted flower shop in Roermond and she delivered the most amazing flower wreath ever. I mean: look at those colours!!! Didn't she do a great job? The wreath is now prettying up our front door, I feel a little sorry for it, because of the bad weather....but it is gonna change someday soon.
And I found this great cake plate from Rice, I decorated only with Easter stuff, not with cake. But it is so pretty, that I wanted to show it to you anyway. Next time it will come with a cake on top. Promised.
The Albert Heijn supermarket could deliver the M&M's in spring colours. So it was clear, that i had to try out some nice cookies with them. They are yummie, yummie soft and crunchy with the Peanut inside and I have now so many cookies that i don't know when I shall eat them all up. If you come by, you will get a cookie to eat right away!
Of course: what would be Easter without Verpoorten? Hm? This is a long tradition in our home and every year is tastes better, it seams. Although it is always the same recipe?! I doubled the recipe, because in the afternnon I am gonna visit my friend Anna and we are gonna try out to bake some cake with the homemade Verpoorten. I expect good results! maybe drunken results, hehe!
I didn't find nice twigs anywhere, but had some ornaments which I wanted to hang up somewhere. That's why I used some wired hangers and decorated them.
Love the story of the "haeschenschule" with the very tall teacher and the small student. I guess the story is only well known in Germany. But it is popular here, especially again around Easter time!
